Clifden

Clifden, the largest town in Connemara is an ideal place to stay when touring the spectacular landscapes of the Connemara region. Clifden has many historical sites including Marconis Station where the first commercial transatlantic message was transmitted to Nova Scotia, Canada in Oct 1907 and the monument commemorating the first transatlantic flight by Alcock and Brown.
